Christmas Eve Traditions

	Ahh... the Ufolla family Christmas Eve tradition, new jammies.
	Every year before leaving for service we open one gift on Christmas eve, always our new Christmas jammies.
	This year ECF did not hold Christmas service. We were challenged to do Christmas differently. Specifically, we were challenged to go out and be a part of the larger household of faith. I wasn't sure how to do it, no I didn't want to do it! Bob knew how and he didn't even realize he was doing it or was supposed to. Allow me to explain...
	While shopping for our jammies Bob suggested including Rochelle in our family tradition ...
	He Enjoyed picking out just the right shirt for our wise pastor. It's an inside joke I will share only upon request.
	It's official she's now a fully integrated part of the Ufolla clan. She has completed the Christmas Eve rite of passage and received her goofy jammies to prove it (she bears the mark of Hello Kitty along with Kaitlin and myself).
	The boys sport their new jammie shirts. Hello Kitty just didn't seem appropriate so...
	Game on, Wii jammies for the boys.
	Rochelle sports her new mop slippers and ponders the experience. A few days later... Bob and Rochelle were discussing the jammies and Bob made a statement about the shirt he got for "HIS" pastor!!

Hmm "HIS" pastor!

Yup, Christmas Eve this year was different and made a mark on more than those who gathered together in the different church buildings for services. God used my husband to show me how to be a part of the larger household of faith. It's as simple as including someone into to your Family. You know God can and will use anyone to teach us. In the process I believe He's doing more than just teaching me, why else would Bob claim anyone as "HIS" pastor?

Looks like church to me!

Yep, sure looks like church to me! No, not because there are pews lined up so people can look at the backs of each other's heads... in fact, I'm not even talking about the layout of the room. Do you see the Church in this picture? Sure, it's the PEOPLE, working together (and bumping heads just a little bit) as they figure out what "church" will look like in the fellowship hall. Best part for me? They started doing it without my help.
In the foreground, Karen wisely stays out of traffic and busies herself putting together gifts for the mentally ill at the group home we visited later that day. The cookies on the plate were made by kids church (Eli, Zeke, & Leyton) for us to take along.

And I? Well, I just stood back with a goofy smile on my face.

After a lovely lunch with Karen and James, and the beautiful visit to the group home, and a little downtime at Ufollas, and then a houseful of kids and adults celebrating some King birthdays (even Bob showed up to smirk and serve cake)... after all this, I called my mom as I often do to keep me awake on the long drive home to Fenton. My first words to her were...

"Can I just say, I go to the BEST CHURCH EVER!"

Alright, maybe the rest of you Echoes didn't feel what happened in the Spirit this weekend. That's okay... it should be apparent to you before long that we really are becoming a Body.

HIS Body. And His pleasure is tickling me.

He likes having a Body you see... ;-)

Echoes...

Well! It's been a while since there's been an entry that reflects life at Echo... So...

Echo continues to "become" a family, as folks have reached out to help not only families in our community (through the Problem Pregnancy Center in Oxford), but also one of our own in financial need. When I sent out an email to the Body to let them know of the need, imagine my intense joy to discover that at least two people were already "on the job!"

Echo Fenton has met twice, and the joy over the Word is such a delight. It's easy for us to grow apathetic, thinking everyone already knows "all that" in the Bible, but guess what... there are many in the Body who hunger for the Word, and who really do want to know. Oh "mature" Christians, please don't get so satisfied or complacent that you forget the sharp hunger for the presence of God... that "first love" that delighted you so... hanging out with younger Christians can sometimes help to re-ignite that passion.

Speaking of young and hungry... Echo Detroit is set to launch January 11, and actually earlier as I and some as-yet-undetermined number of Echo-Lake-Orions share Christmas dinner with Jeanita, Danette, Michael, and the 19 children that will make up this little home fellowship! Please keep praying for Danette and her 10 children, who are currently living in a shelter in Detroit. Even more, please pray they are awakened to their hunger for God.

What else is going on? Jeff's 2nd sermon is coming up this week, the women's retreat at Echo Grove is just around the corner in February, and we look forward to Seder 2009... which will be somewhere...and Shirley Carpenter's visit during Pentecost.

We lost heat in the building this week and spent service in the fellowship hall. I'm going to send out an email to the Body asking for a vote about whether to keep meeting in the fellowship hall during the winter to save on the heating bill. [I confess I SO ENJOY that environment, MUCH more than the sanctuary with the traditional people-in-the-pews-looking-like-they're-watching-TV arrangement. :) But that's just my opinion...]

And speaking of TV, the March 5 (2009) episode of "Ask the Pastor" on TCT-Detroit should be...uh... interesting. There will be a brand new pastor on the panel that week... I had never watched the show, but now I'm excited about the ministry that goes on. As mentioned above, people really are hungry for the Word, and the calls that come in to that show just break your heart with how much people really do want to know Him and serve Him better. As I like to say, "I don't have a lot of wisdom, but I know Someone who does..." I pray His wisdom will flow through His servants on that show... and that He will use this newbie to contribute somewhat to that river.

Oh Echo... may you find your purpose in His Word coming to life in you, birthing Life... may living water flow through you... may you desire His presence more than any worldly pleasure, while each worldly pleasure you do taste will be infused with His presence.

You really are never alone, you know.

Jacob's Ladder?
The sunset tonight reminded me of the ladder Jacob dreamt about early in this week's reading. Ever pondered the significance of this image? I have been this week and i dare you to dig a little with me! There is much to be found i assure you...

Some suggested starting points... Look at the cross refs, look up the use of ladder elsewhere, think about gates (Jacob calls it the gate of heaven), and try to answer the question "why would angels need a ladder?"

Blessed are the peacemakers...

Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."

Peacemakers... eireno-poioi ... makers of peace. poieo is the Greek word used for Creating in the LXX. It's doing, making, creating, manufacturing, producing, causing, accomplishing.

Blessed are those who produce peace (as a fruit, a la Gal 5).
Blessed are those who create a safe, peaceful place for others to rest.
Blessed are those who accomplish peace through keeping short accounts with God (1 John 1:9), refusing to go to bed angry (Eph 4:26), preserving unity (Eph 4:3), and forgiving each other (Col 3:13-14).

Blessed how? "They shall be called sons of God," receiving inheritance alongside the Firstborn...

"For a child will be born to us...And His name will be called ...PRINCE OF PEACE." Isaiah 9:6

Let us follow this Prince of Peace in all things, especially in this making of peace during this season we celebrate as the one heralded by the angels: "Peace on earth..." (Luke 2:14)

Doesn't matter if we are "clever enough" to know that this probably isn't when the Word took on flesh. Rather than squabbling about dates and times and seasons, let us concern ourselves with "Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Spirit" (Rom 14:17) which is how Paul defines the kingdom of God, which we are to pursue FIRST (Matt 6:33).

As Shabbat ends, receive this exhortation to move from resting in peace (shabbat shalom) to working out peace in our relationships and in our world.

Toldot (Genesis 25:19-28:9)

I liked Sarah's short Questions post last week so much that I'm going to follow suit, and post just one question...

Genesis 25:21-22 Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived. But the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If it is so, why then am I this way?" So she went to inquire of the LORD.

In these two verses we see how struggle moved first Isaac and then Rebekah to go to the LORD with their concerns.

Are you struggling with anything? Are you uncomfortable in any area? Are there promises He's spoken to you, but the way seems to be blocked with all manner of troublesome darkness?

Perhaps He is moving you to genuinely talk to Him about it... and perhaps He is moving you to release His will "on earth as it is in heaven" by praying in faith.

I'm just silly enough to believe what His Word says about prayer, and to believe these examples of faith are for us to follow.

Love being loved

Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks!!!! For making a fuss, even tho it was totally awkward for me! I felt so un-deserving of everything. Yet at the same time your deep expression of love caused me to once again realize how much God loves us even tho we really aren't deserving of it. What a beautiful gift to give a guide to Torah!! I am soooooo geeked!! I have already read all the intro and re-read this weeks readings!!



I came home last night and said to Kaitlin...

"I'll bet that I'm the only 37 year old Christian woman to be Bat Mitvah'd!"

So this morning I woke up at just before 3:00 and sat down to finish up Isaiah (couldn't sleep). Well by 4:00ish I was content with being half way through Isaiah. Technically I still have the rest of Isaiah and all Jeremiah to finish (I backslid while trying to read them before, just struggled with understanding them). But I will keep plugging away because that's how I am.

Today I am a year older and with a little more of His word in me surely I am a

little more wiser!?. I'm not sure just yet what His plan is for me. I haven't been given a distinct vision. So, until He makes it clear to me I'm going to continue training with this beautiful child's tutor-Torah. When this child is called I want to be equipped!

Thank you family for blessing me with such an awesome gift. . Thanks to my big sis, Rochelle and most of all thanks to Him whom we are seeking after together, the one Torah points us to,Yeshua our Mashiach!

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young." Isa 40:11

Chayei Sarah

I don't have a *whole* lot to post here, so consider this a "light week".

At the end of Genesis 24, it says that Isaac was comforted by Rebekah after his mother's death. I wondered whether this could be one of the reasons that Abraham didn't find a son for him earlier in his life - so that Rebekah could be a comfort to him. Has God ever brought someone into your life at a time where you needed comfort?

Sarah was barren before she had Isaac. Rebekah was also barren, as we'll see in a few chapters. Can you find any other similarities between Rebekah and Sarah?

In Genesis 23:1, the NASB translation says "Now Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years; these were the years of the life of Sarah." However, when most people are noted as dying, it says much less, just that "so and so lived x years, and then they died." - But "these were the years of the life of Sarah" brings a sense that Sarah's life was very important. What was it about Sarah that would make her worthy of such an honor?

In Genesis 25, it says that Abraham had more sons through another wife. Yet, before he dies, he sends them away. Why would Abraham do this? Was this an act of faith, cowardice, or something else?

Shabbat shalom! May "peace be in your walls" that is, may you be a place of safety for others because you have taken refuge in the true and eternal Ark... The Name by which we are saved. Rest well Echo. See you soon!

Vayera: The God of Vision (Genesis 18-22)

Today we learned about the God of Vision... YHWH Yireh (Yahweh will see). God manifested to and through Abraham and Isaac the vision of His ultimate victory over death, as He returned Isaac to Abraham as though from the dead (John 8, Heb 11). We learned that our God sees our need, and the provision for that need, and He also wants to be seen by us... He desires a face-to-face relationship with those who seek His face with clean hands and pure hearts. Finally, we learned once again that "vision brings restraint," and concluded with a prayer that the God of Vision would continue to give Echo vision, and that, "like the mountain where Isaac was offered, this Body would be a place for His Name, and a place where He dwells. I pray that, according to the vision that He has given me, this people would be a place known as ‘YHWH Shammah’ that is, YHWH is There."

But wait, there's more! :) Yep, there are areas that I began to explore, but quickly realized were beyond the scope of this week's sermon. Here are some thoughts and questions to consider as you walk in His Word this week, continuing to follow in Abraham's steps of faith...

• "Lamb" or "Ram"? Abraham said God would provide a lamb, but God provided a ram! Ahah! Proof of contradiction! Well, wait... Lamb = simply sheep, one of the flock. A ram is a male sheep, and He chooses to make it clear that it is a male sheep that He chooses for a sacrifice. This little sidetrack brought to my mind someone else’s step of faith way back in the early chapters of Genesis…
  
  Genesis 4:4 "Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering;"
  
  From Hebrews 11 we know that Abel made a better sacrifice by faith, and we know that that sacrifice was of the first-born sheep… so now with these two stories we have God’s accepted sacrifice identified as first-born male sheep… and it is just this way that Christ is identified in the New Testament… the first born of creation, and God’s only son (as Isaac was Abraham’s only son of faith). Maybe one of you can add to this little thought-pretzel.

• "Ra'ah" Do a little search for this verb and see some of the way cool places it appears, especially in Genesis.
• "YHWH Appeared" Do a search for where people "ra'ah'd" YHWH, and their responses. Of particular note is Exodus 33:11... "the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face..." Did He stop meeting with Him that way? Vs 20 seems to suggest He stopped appearing to Moses this way... If so, why? I've got some ideas, and we'll come to it, oh, sometime in March... but for those who love His face NOW, I don't think He'd be offended if we looked into these matters a little now... :)

Happy digging, fellow kings, prophets, and priests... and fellow SHEEP/SHEPHERDS! Eat well, that you may feed others well. You are LOVED.

Not sure how to share with you the peace (shalom...safety and security) of this moment. A few quiet minutes, no pressing agenda, just a conversation with our Father while i hang out at starbucks. What are we talking about? Only this:
Ah, you are loved, Echo! Be at peace with Him, with eachother, and with yourselves!
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God!" Matt 5:9
May you make shalom with eachother and rest well in Him this shabbat! May His Spirit bear witness with yours that you are His...as you call out to Him, your Abba, your Daddy, your Papa.

Lekh L'kha! Abraham's Steps of Faith (Genesis 12-17)

We learned today about Abram becoming Abraham, the father of all who follow in his steps of faith (Romans 4:12). In Genesis 12:1 we saw that Abram's first recorded step of faith was to respond to YHWH's call to "lekh l'kha" or "get yourself going" ... away from his father's house, from his family, from his homeland, and all that was familiar. We also learned that this in itself was a type of circumcision... the removal of a protective covering that was in place for a time, but that at some point is removed, yielding greater sensitivity and greater response-ability (ability to respond). Finally, we were challenged to ask God to reveal areas of protection that are ready to be removed, and then to empower us to come to Him for the Divine/Human surgery of heart circumcision.

I look forward to witnessing the miracle of circumcision in this Body, as you share about the steps of faith that God calls you to take. Take courage, little flock, He is with you and will complete the work He has begun!

While we're waiting together, He's given us beautiful encouragemant through the words and images found in this week's Torah passage, especially when read alongide the "echoes" found in the prophets and in B'rit Chadashah (the New Testament). It's with this in mind that I hope you will enjoy walking down one or more of the following paths:

• "Leave your family" (Gen 12:1) God has created us in such a way that family ties are necessarily strong. At the same time, however, He calls special people to transcend natural family ties to join a spiritual family. Where else in Scripture are some people encouraged to walk away from family? (Hint: there are at least two other places, not including Jesus' teaching in the Gospels!) To whom is He speaking in these cases? How is this "love?"

• "King of righteousness" (Gen 14:18-20) Find other passages that refer to "Melchizedek," "King of Peace," and "King of Righteousness." What is a righteous king, in God's eyes? (Hint: what does Torah say? that is, what does the Law say about kings?) What does God say about kingship in eternity? (Hint: what do the prophets say about kings? include Revelation in your search!)

• "Horror and great darkness" (Gen 15:12) Ah, here is a beautiful example of the "darkness of the godly" that we found in Isaiah 50:10 and Psalm 139:12. Study the Hebrew for "dark" each of these places. What words does God say in each of these situations? Can you identify where you are or have been in darkness since you've believed? How has it helped you to learn to love?

Food for thought? ... no it's for feeding!

Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?

Matthew 24:45

When I read this passage this morning it was speaking directly to me.

"Toni, my bond slave are you really shema"ing" me? Have you done all I've entrusted in and required of you? Are you feeding those around you who also are of my household with milk or meat? Are you providing that which they need to become strong? Have you taken advantage and acted in every opportunity?"

I can honestly say, no Lord I haven't. At least not all the time. I rely too much on myself to adequately feed others when opportunities present themselves. How will it come out when I try to share the knowledge and understanding I have. It never sounds sensible when I try to share what He's shown me. I know what I want to say but when it rolls of my lips it comes out all wrong. People will think I'm weird is another one I find myself using. I say I don't care but for some reason I have found myself stifled with this very thought more than once before.

Forgive me Lord. Bring me to the place where I no longer see me, only you in me. It's there that I will be able to feed as a faithful and sensible servant. Relying on my ability to feed others will only cause those around me to become malnourished.

Today I will be looking out for opportunities to feed. I pray as they come I don't reach into my storehouse but into His. Actually, I pray He empties my storehouse. (yes I said it and I hesitated in doing it).

Remember What's Important

What is the purpose of physical circumcision?

One reason is that it serves as a sign or a mark that identifies the Jews of the Old Testament. That they were God's chosen people. It's a reminder to them of who they are.

It's a reminder in a similar way as a rainbow was a reminder to God after the flood. Every time He looks upon a rainbow He remembers His covenant between Himself and every living creature of all flesh on the earth. It's like a string tied around the finger (remembrance of a task) or in our case the blue cord on our wrist (reminding us to wait on the Spirit). It's like the wedding band married people wear (a physical reminder of wedlock). I'm sure you can think of other reminders you are familiar with.

Tonight Rochelle and I discussed this topic. I love what she brought to my attention...

If you remove the wedding band are you no longer married?

NOPE still hitched!

If you put on a ring does it make you married?

NOPE ceremony and vows still required!

OK I read an article earlier today about reverse circumcision and it isn't an option but my point is it's not the circumcision of the flesh that binds us to Him. If one has already been circumcised in the flesh but hasn't committed to the relationship it's like any Joe wearing a wedding ring to someone he hasn't married or doesn't really even know. It's not binding just because you have a "mark".

Flesh circumcision is a reminder...

God looks on the heart, that's where He searches for a mark. That's the only mark that truly matters.

What does all this mean? Well that things that serve as reminders are good but they are only meant to remind. Don't get caught up in the mark... focus on what you supposed to remember?

Additionally for me it means that this week in Kid's Church I don't yet need to teach in detail about the circumcision of Abraham's flesh but of what it is a reminder of... A heart that believed in the one true God and was fully His- marked. The Spiritual seed of God's people.

Covenants, a peek in His heart

I was just asking myself would I really have had the faith to do as Noah did? The rainbow is a sign to God. It's a reminder to Himself of His promise (Gen 9:8-17). Do I have Noah's faith even today? When the Lord brings a cloud upon the earth He is reminded of His promise. I wonder if it's because He knew we couldn't all be as faithful as Noah?

I realize I'm often afraid to trust. My faith wavers so often. Noah didn't experience life after the flood as we have. He just did as God told him. We've have experienced the calm after the storm unlike Noah. He hadn't even seen rain yet! That's real faith...

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

(Heb 1:11)

In times of darkness my faith is shaken. Even though my mind knows His promise is everlasting and ever present. It's the darkness that hinders my view. I am reminded of a wise friend who once told me that darkness is only absence of light.

So what is it I can choose to do when I find myself in darkness? Move closer to the light!

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, " I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."

(John 8:12)

Hmm so I need to follow, When I find darkness creeping into my life is it because something has distracted me while I was supposed to be following? The light hasn't vanished even if I have distanced myself from it.

It's true sometimes my faith wavers. At times I loose sight of the straight and narrow path I am to follow. I place distance between the Light of Christ and myself. Thankfully He is faithful. His promises are for keeps! They are everlasting and He cannot fail! He initiates the covenant, He seals the deal! As I study covenants my mind is blown away! I can't comprehend it. First a rainbow and next circumcision. I'm still asking Him to show me, to teach me. But it's not only my mind that needs to be transformed, more importantly it's my heart that He wants! I'm not there yet but He's began a good work in me and He is able to bring it to completion.

Father continue to teach us how to love...

Noah (Genesis 6:9-11:32)

Blessings Echo!

Here are some questions to help guide our study. A lot of things jumped out at me this week, and I don't expect that we will get to study all of the items below. I may not always mention studying the Hebrew or Greek words, but don't let that stop you from picking out keywords to dig into! Feel free to post your responses to any of the questions, and PLEASE post your own questions and ponderings!
We'll take a look at some of these (plus questions for next week's reading) the next time we get together (November 10th, 6pm at Oxford Starbucks).

• Genesis 8:20-21 Noah's Sacrifice. Today we talked briefly about Noah's sacrifice of animals that had just been saved from the flood. God was pleased by this sacrifice, and by Noah's faith. The sacrifice, as far as we can tell, was not given as payment or to try to get God to do anything. What kinds of sacrifices do you offer? Why do you offer them?


• Genesis 9:22 Noah's Nakedness is Covered. Have you noticed a brother's or sister's "nakedness" lately? Have you "echoed" Ham by telling others, or have you "echoed" Shem and Japheth by covering instead?


• Genesis 10:6-14 Cush. Looking at your Bible maps, try to identify where the sons of Cush ended up. Do were hear about people from these areas later on? Remember, Genesis tells of the "beginning" of many nations, not just Israel. God has a plan for these other people, too!


• Genesis 10:6-14 (again) Nimrod, the "Mighty Hunter." (Study the Hebrew words!) Can you identify some other "hunters" in Scripture? What might this group of characters tell us about being a hunter, and God's perspective on hunters?


• Genesis 11:1-9 Babel. Tower-building was briefly mentioned during today's sermon. What does a tower symbolize, here and throughout Scripture? What towers do you run to, and what towers do you build for your own name? Contrast ark-building and its purpose with tower-building and its purpose.
  
• Genesis 11:30 Sarai's Barrenness. Take a look at the Haftorah reading in Isaiah (54-55). What is barrenness? (Study the Hebrew word!) Are you experiencing or have you experienced any areas of barrenness? Do you have a testimony of fruitfulness now, or perhaps a present burden that we can share? How can barrenness help us learn to love?

I loved Toni's post about hearing, and making sure we are "shamaing" the right voice.

Thank God that He DEFINITELY speaks through His Written Torah!

I shared with a friend last night that I've finally gotten to a point where I don't read His Word because I "have" to... I read because I HAVE to... it's my breath, my fuel, my food. It grows and strengthens me in Him even as it breaks my heart and tears down my self-sufficiency.

It wasn't always like this, though. I once heard someone share that they had gotten to this point, and I realized I was very far from it... so what happened? I asked Him to change me. "Simple" as that! And He has a way of responding to such prayers...

Thank You Lord for Your Word... truly we can say:

"This is the bread we have been given
The covenant law from God's own hand
By this law we learn to love
Lead us now into Your way"

Check your facts!

I want to take a very brief moment to encourage the body -

If you're going to vote on Tuesday, please, please, take some time to look up the issues, where the candidates stand, and use logic to determine what they might actually be able to accomplish.

I actually heard someone say yesterday that they believe that "white people will be forced into slavery" if Obama becomes president. I don't care how you vote, but please, be an informed voter and don't vote based on hearsay or false advertisements.

And that's all you'll hear from me on politics.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

I find it interesting that the third time the word shama is used in the Bible is when Adam is reprimanded for "shama-ing" Eve, (Gen 3:17) http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=gen%203:17&version=49.

The first two occurrences of the word are in Ch 3 verses 8 and again in verse 10.

The first and second occurrence have to do with "shama-ing" the voice of God. The third time that the word shama occurs is when God tells Adam that it's because he "sham-ed" Eve's voice that...

Disclaimer: I don't mean to imply boys that husbands shouldn't listen to wives. (I know you were all going there.) Just hang with me for a little while longer.

Redirecting your attention to the point... Adam "shama-ed" a voice that was not in agreement with God's word. Eve's voice was in opposition of what God had already spoken.

When we hear, attend, understand, obey and remember (elements of shama) do we ensure it's the voice of God that has spoken it?

I recently saw a movie in class about an elderly Deaf couple who decided to under-go surgery to receive cochlear implants (a device ran by a mini processor that uses an external microphone to receive sound which is fed to an electrode array embedded under the skin which in turn transforms the sound into coded signals that are decoded by the brain). The couple being in their upper 60's struggled with their new implants. The wife had the most difficulty . You see after being Deaf all her life she now suffered from sound overload. It was extremely hard for her to learn how to distinguish the difference in sounds. Everything was noise to her from music to voices to white noise. At the end of the program the poor woman reached utter despair and said the following...

"Part of learning how to hear is learning what not to hear, what to take in and what to ignore".

I almost shouted out a big ole "AMEN say it sister!" right there in the classroom. Needless to say it really made an impression on me!

In this world full of sounds and voices I ask you ECF do you know which sounds and voices to hear and which to ignore?

Who's the originator of the voices you HEAR?

Do you UNDERSTAND what you are hearing?
Are you purposely directing your ATTENTION to the voice of God?
Are you OBEDIENT to His voice?
Do you dwell in His Word daily to ensure that you REMEMBER what He has spoken?

SHAMA ECF...
HEAR HIM, ATTEND HIS MESSAGE, UNDERSTAND WHAT HE SAYS, BE OBEDIENT, AND REMEMBER WHAT HE HAS SAID.

Oh and boys...
Sometimes He does speak through wives, friends, pastors (wink, wink) and others.
